So this post is going to be about my second home. The place I probably spend most of my time besides my own place. It’s not at college, it’s not at work and it’s not with Kristina. My second home is actually, church, the church of Iron better known as the gym!
It may make you tilt your head a little to think that I go to the gym a lot, sure all I talk about on here is anime for the most part, but I honestly love going to the gym and working out. I currently train at the gym 5 days a week. Monday to Friday and “rest” on weekends. I have rest in quotes because I go to my job on Saturdays and Sundays, usually for 5:30 or 6 am.
Why I Train;
I started working out about 4-5 years ago, the reason I started was that growing up I was bullied, a lot. I’m 6 foot 2 and I was always the biggest kid in all my classes and I got bullied a lot for my size. I decided it was time for a change when I hit my heaviest of about 330~lbs (150~kg). I started watching what I ate and started walking a lot more and I started losing weight and got a little self-confidence. Fast-forward to about 2.5 years ago, I decided I wanted to lose a lot more weight and start being lean and strong so I signed up at my gym and started training seriously, lifting heavy and getting stronger. I no longer train because of being bullied, but I do use that as fuel, I now train because I like how it makes me feel, it helps with my anxiety, depression, stress, etc. and I train because I not only train to look good for Kristina but for myself as well. Also through in a couple of gym pics.
My Favorite Lifts:
I’m a little bit of a classic “gym bro” in the sense that I love training arms but I actually train legs more often than I train shoulders, granted that could just be because my shoulders are the easiest muscle for me to grow. My favorite muscle to train is actually back though for whatever reason. I just love training back. I don’t really have an explanation why it’s just what I look forward to training the most. I guess with training back my favorite lift is actually considered one of the hardest lifts, the king of all lifts, the deadlift. That right, my favorite lift is me picking something heavy off the ground just to put it back down again.
My Fitness Goals:
I have a handful of fitness goa
ls at the moment, some short-term and some long-term ones. Well, I am currently sitting at about 220lbs (99kg), with a 660lbs (299kg) total (max of deadlift, squat and bench combined). My Bench max is 145lbs (65.7kg), my squat of 200lbs (90.7kg) and my deadlift being 315lbs (142.8kg). My current goals are to be 190lbs (86kg) at sub 14% bodyfat, so I have abs. My next goal is to hit a total of 1000lbs (453.5kg). My individual goals for my lifts are to have my deadlift be 500lbs (226.7kg), my bench to be 315lbs (142.8kg) and my squat to be 400lbs (181.4kg).
I can’t really explain it but I just love going to the gym so much and recommend people try working out and see how it makes them feel.
