Bohemian Rhapsody – My Movie Review

Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career. Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day

Okay, so Kristina and I went to see the new Bohemian Rhapsody. The new movie about the legendary rock band, Queen. So that what I’m going to talk about! So let’s get into this!

You want an in-depth look at Freddie Mercury’s life you can go on YouTube and find tons of them. If you want a movie that will make you feel good and remind you why Queen is one of the greatest bands in the 21st century then go see this movie.

There are some inaccuracies to be found but it feels like they’re made to service the film’s overall run-time which is already over 2hrs. The movie doesn’t pretend to be a note for note recreation of the band member’s lives but rather a celebration of Queen (Freddie Mercury in particular), their humble beginnings and their meteoric rise to success. Most of all, the movie is a celebration of their brilliant music.

You want to be entertained and come out of the theatre feeling happy and humming Queen songs? Go see this movie. If you want deeper insight into the personal life of Freddie Mercury or an accurate timeline of Queen’s many accomplishments, watch a documentary.

This movie had me on an emotional roller coaster. I was humming and tapping too many of the songs played throughout the movie,  I was smiling and laughing and got a little chocked up at times. I don’t know how Kristina felt about the movie so I guess you will have to ask her yourself! But, I would highly recommend that everyone go and see this movie, regardless of your knowledge of the band or their music, you will enjoy this movie. Fantastic!

Okay, so the question for today is have you heard of Queen? and have are you going to see this movie?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post, I really appreciate it, I hope you enjoyed and as always, have a great day!
