So there is a lot of people who prefer the dubbed version over the subbed version and vice versa, and I am here to talk about why I prefer the subbed version over the dub! So if you are ready then let’s get started!
There is a lot of people out there who just watched the dubbed version of anime’s because they can’t keep up with the subtitles, don’t like how the voices sound in Japanese compared to the English voices or whatever. I, however, am the other way, I watch the subbed version of anime and I prefer it that way and I am going to explain why!
See It First
One of the main reasons I like to watch subbed anime is because I get to see the episodes WAY before the English dub comes out. Put it this way, Dragon Ball Super aired it’s the final episode on March 25th of 2018, the English dub is currently on episode 98 which comes out on February 16th, 2019. Yet they still have to go through 33 more episodes until they reach the end. So I know how it ends for almost a year now and the dub hasn’t even gotten to the best part of the tournament yet. There are some special cases like with My Hero Academia having its third season being simultaneously dubbed so the sub and dub came out at the same time, but this is something that rarely happens.
Better voice acting
This one people debate about a lot, but in my opinion, the dub has a lot better voice acting, and by this, I mean that the Japanese voice actors put A LOT more emotion and everything into there voices making every moment more realistic and more believable. Which is something that I really like?
Don’t get me wrong, I have watched the dubbed version of different anime’s plenty of times. But when I watch dub it’s usually because I am rewatching the show and want to watch it in English. I have done this for Naruto and Baki (2018) and a couple of others.
Today’s question is if you do watch anime which version do you prefer? The subbed version or the dubbed version?
Thank you so much for reading my post, I hope you all enjoyed! And don’t forget to have a great day!
